Recently, Tokyo made a formal statement that it was determined to fire warning shots against the Chinese aircraft caught flying over the contentious Senkaku (on Japanese maps)/Diaoyu (on Chinese maps) Islands. Such a reaction was triggered after the two Asian powers sent out their fighter jets on a military mission to that area.
